AMAZING 3D/Pop-Up Frenzy Projects

April 8, 2009

So we had to put it off a week because of the Storm That Never Came… but that just gave you another week to anticipate the greatness! You may have seen Karen’s samples; in the morning, an Easter-themed project:

And in the afternoon, she’s cut the pop-up ball out of transparency (she’s used travel photos here, but I think this one would be ideal for a graduation present, with pictures of the graduate over the years):

Wanna see the other amazing samples? You already know that we have the most talented staff anywhere, right? Well, let me confirm that for you.  Each designer took one of Karen’s dies and made two projects with it. First, Kelly and the cake:

These photos don’t do it justice; you can’t even see the bling on the wedding cake. Wait until you see it in person! Next, Barbara used the spinning platform for a graduation card and a birthday card:

Christyn had the house, which she turned into a little red schoolhouse, and made a welcome card:

Houston went off-road with the hearts; she made a butterfly! (She also made an adorable card with a “hug,” but you’ll have to wait to see that one.)

Tara has used the beach chair die to great effect in a Fathers’ Day card and a retirement card:

And, finally, Rachel worked her magic on two versions of the tree:

Did I tell you? Fabulous, right? Drop in between 10:00 and 1:00, or between 1:30 and 4:30, and make as many projects as you like. Karen’s projects will be seated in “flights”– five people make the project, then get up and five more sit down… and they’re $5 each. The other projects are $3 apiece, and will be seated in come-and-go fashion. Pay when you’re done.

See you Saturday!

Karen Burniston (and her dies) are coming to Scrapbook Destination!

March 12, 2009

We are SO fortunate to have the lovely and talented Karen Burniston right here in our own backyard. She has taught many classes for us, and they all involve interactive, spinning, pop-up elements. Well, she has brought her engineering genius to a line of dies for Sizzix that create all the fabulous interactive elements for you. They ship in May, but on April 4 , 10:00-1:00 & 1:30-4:30, we have a special preview make-n-take Frenzy. Karen will be here, creating two different projects with her collapsible ball die, and we’ll have twelve other projects– one in the morning and one in the afternoon with each of the six other dies. You won’t want to miss this incredible opportunity to make our creative team’s brilliant projects, see & hear Karen in person (she’s hilarious), and pre-order the dies before they’re available. (You may have seen three of the dies on QVC; we’ll have all seven to try and order!) Take a peek:
