Shhhh, is Spring listening?

March 11, 2009

If you live in Colorado, you know the drill. Spring drops hints here and there. As we all know, March and April – busiest months for snow in Colorado? Enough already! I really AM ready to see the flowers, the green, outdoor markets, flip-flops, etc. OK, but I wasn’t ready for the allergy attack it brought to me this year.

Ready or not: We ARE ready in the store!
Look what is sprouting at your Scrapbook Destination:

1-bella-blvd

bella-blvd-swing-into-spring

Bella Blvd. – a very happy new line of paper filling the store with feelings of the aforementioned *sigh*. Can you guess which paper is ‘my’ favorite? No contest there – duh!

On closer inspection:

Does it make you feel happy? Well it should, regardless the mood you’re in. I know this from experience, trust me!

[Editor’s note: *I* love how they’re two separate lines with two different themes, but they coordinate perfectly. That Swing Into Spring stripe goes great with the Sweet Celebration cupcakes!–mks]

OH, I don’t want to leave out the very cool cardstock stickers that came with this paper. They are solid white. Why is that important you ask? You can ink them, stamp them, trace them, bling them – the possibilities are endless!

Come see what inspires you today!

Twitterpated, because we are…

January 21, 2009

1-twitterpated

1. twitterpated defined as:

1) to be completely enamored with someone/something.
2) the flighty exciting feeling you get when you think about/see the object of your affection.
3) romantically excited (i.e.: aroused)
4) the ever increasing acceleration of heartbeat and body temperature as a result of being engulfed amidst the exhilaration and joy of being/having a romantic entity in someone’s life.

When he smiled at her, the rush of warm, fuzzy, excited sensations that filled her made her realize she was completely twitterpated with this man.

And because I had to ask someone what ‘twitterpated’ meant – HA! We have this lovely ‘spring-like’ paper in the store now, you need to come see it. It somewhat represents what our recent colorado weather has been like. Cute furry little creatures, flowers, polka-dots, etc. Are you feeling it?!

*Note to self: need to watch Bambi again…

Creative cheers,
Rachel

Are you Bound?

2009 BIA pink v2.0

A new year, a new color!

The new Bind-It-All has made it to the store. And it’s pink. AND it comes with new features:

BIA V2.0 can now accommodate materials up to 35% thicker than the orginal BIA. So for those of us wanting to bind the whole enchilada at once, there you go. The perfectionist in me still likes the slow, a few pieces at a time way but I will have to give this feature a shot!

It can also do very thin fabric and acrylic now. I’ve yet to try it out so I’m excited to test out some fabric album projects for the new year!

Also new is the Extension Paper Guide Bar and Plate. In short, the Bar when it is locked and engaged will set measurement positions for ease in repeating punches over and over again. The Plate serves a similar purpose as the Bar for ‘repeat’ punching ease. The benefit to using the plate is that it sets measurements for projects narrower than 4”.

I’m excited to learn the new features so I can pass them on to you. I hope to have that done tonight so come visit us soon to see the new beauty in pink!

Creative cheers in the new year,
Rachel

Cut ANY TrueType Font and Hundreds of Designs!

December 5, 2008

Have you been eyeing the various digital cutters? Are you wondering which one is for you? Well, we’ve already told you how much we love the Slice; now check out our latest obsession, the Silhouette. This machine does it all– hook it up to your computer, install the software, and ten minutes later you are cutting ANY font you have on your computer! That’s right; no more paying for cartridges to get cool fonts. Instead, surf all those Free Fonts sites, and you’re good to go. You can also cut hundreds of QuicKutz shapes, downloadable from their website; most cost $3 to $5, but the best part is that you can scale them up to EIGHT INCHES. That’s right– imagine the things you can cut! Borders to go across your 12″scrapboook page… oversized letters for school projects…the possibilities are endless!

But here’s the BEST part– it’s only $149.99. Yes, you read that right! This tool, originally over $350, is now only $149.99 at Scrapbook Destination. Compare that to the “deal” at that other store–  a bundle with the Silhouette, a $200 download card, and some QuickStrips adhesive paper is SIX HUNDRED dollars. You do the math!  J

Come to the store to see this baby in action.  At our Gift Frenzy tomorrow, Saturday December 6, I’ll be making a little octagonal box and tag that I cut on the Silhouette.  There are a dozen excellent projects, so stop in between 10 & 4:30 and create some handmade gifts!
