More Frenzy Projects & A Chance to WIN!

May 1, 2009

I promised you more images of Frenzy projects, and here they are! Barb’s going to be dyeing silk scarves with alcohol inks and pens, and each result is totally unique. Here’s mine (I have a thing for green and purple, as my scrap buddies can tell you):

And, after a brief break last month for the 3D Frenzy, Christyn’s layouts are back. This time she’s doing two, to catch us up:

And how about a luggage tag, personalized just for her?

Very Special Anniversary Frenzy

April 30, 2009

So you’ve heard that this weekend– May 2, actually, which is also National Scrapbook Day– is our SECOND anniversary, right? Well, Saturday we’re celebrating with special deals and offers, as well as a full day of fantastic make-n-takes. Drop in between 10 & 1 or 1:30 & 4:30, make whichever projects you like, and pay for only those you make. Fees range from $2 to $15.  We’re doing gifts this time– just in time for Mothers’ Day and teacher gifts. There is a fabulous set of notecards:

And there’s more! Stay tuned tomorrow (because I forgot to take photos in the insanity of today) for a gorgeous scarf dyed with alcohol inks & markers, layouts for April & May (perfect for your end-of-year calendar), a luggage tag, and a pot full of flowers that are really pens! Plus, there will be at least one FREE “do it yourself” make-n-take all day Saturday AND Sunday!

Garage Sale is back!

April 27, 2009

You asked for it, I had trouble deciding on a date, but finally the next Garage Sale is scheduled.  It will be on May 16 & 17– the week after Mothers’ Day, the weekend before Memorial Day. Oy– May’s a busy month!

Here’s how it works: Full tables rent for $10, half tables for $5. You bring your stuff, labelled with the price you’re asking and the number we give you. (If you’d like to split a table with someone, be sure to ask for more than one number, so it’s easy to split up the proceeds. ) We staff the sale, ring everything up, and give you 100% of  the proceeds as a gift card, OR half the proceeds in cash.

That couldn’t be easier, could it? So if you’d like to sign up, you can find the contract here. Fill it out, bring it in with payment, or fax it back and we’ll charge your card and call you with your garage sale number.  We ask for your card number (and keep it safe) so that, should you no-show without 48 hours notice, we can charge your card $50. We’d rather not do that, though– we’d prefer you call us to say you can’t participate, so we can give your spot to someone from the waiting list.

Sign up now, before we’re all full (again). We look forward to seeing you as a seller or a shopper on May 16 & 17!

AMAZING 3D/Pop-Up Frenzy Projects

April 8, 2009

So we had to put it off a week because of the Storm That Never Came… but that just gave you another week to anticipate the greatness! You may have seen Karen’s samples; in the morning, an Easter-themed project:

And in the afternoon, she’s cut the pop-up ball out of transparency (she’s used travel photos here, but I think this one would be ideal for a graduation present, with pictures of the graduate over the years):

Wanna see the other amazing samples? You already know that we have the most talented staff anywhere, right? Well, let me confirm that for you.  Each designer took one of Karen’s dies and made two projects with it. First, Kelly and the cake:

These photos don’t do it justice; you can’t even see the bling on the wedding cake. Wait until you see it in person! Next, Barbara used the spinning platform for a graduation card and a birthday card:

Christyn had the house, which she turned into a little red schoolhouse, and made a welcome card:

Houston went off-road with the hearts; she made a butterfly! (She also made an adorable card with a “hug,” but you’ll have to wait to see that one.)

Tara has used the beach chair die to great effect in a Fathers’ Day card and a retirement card:

And, finally, Rachel worked her magic on two versions of the tree:

Did I tell you? Fabulous, right? Drop in between 10:00 and 1:00, or between 1:30 and 4:30, and make as many projects as you like. Karen’s projects will be seated in “flights”– five people make the project, then get up and five more sit down… and they’re $5 each. The other projects are $3 apiece, and will be seated in come-and-go fashion. Pay when you’re done.

See you Saturday!

Karen Burniston (and her dies) are coming to Scrapbook Destination!

March 12, 2009

We are SO fortunate to have the lovely and talented Karen Burniston right here in our own backyard. She has taught many classes for us, and they all involve interactive, spinning, pop-up elements. Well, she has brought her engineering genius to a line of dies for Sizzix that create all the fabulous interactive elements for you. They ship in May, but on April 4 , 10:00-1:00 & 1:30-4:30, we have a special preview make-n-take Frenzy. Karen will be here, creating two different projects with her collapsible ball die, and we’ll have twelve other projects– one in the morning and one in the afternoon with each of the six other dies. You won’t want to miss this incredible opportunity to make our creative team’s brilliant projects, see & hear Karen in person (she’s hilarious), and pre-order the dies before they’re available. (You may have seen three of the dies on QVC; we’ll have all seven to try and order!) Take a peek:

New Goodies on the Way!

January 31, 2009

I got back late Wednesday from CHA, the Craft & Hobby Association trade show. Some of the Design Team girls went with me — Emily, Heather & Vivian, and we came back psyched up about new product and new ideas. I thought I’d give you a quick sneak peek of what’s coming soon to the store…

Basic Grey has four lines this time; two of them don’t ship until April, but the two that should be here in the next couple of weeks are:

If you want to see the papers up close (and get the names), you can check them out here. Just choose the line you want to see from the drop-down on the left.
